A yummy combination of tropical fruits which you can easily get from your local Asian store. It’s filling and slimming at the same time, and a great way to start your morning. Papaya is packed with vitamin C and beta-carotene and contains enzymes which are a great aid to digestion. The cooling qualities and pectin in pears provide fibre which are beneficial for irritated and inflamed conditions of the digestive tract. Pectin also helps reduce blood cholesterol. Lime stimulates digestion and clears excess fluid from the body.

  • 100g (4oz) fresh papaya, sliced
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 2 green pears, sliced (with or without skin)
  • 200ml fresh milk (or low-fat milk/rice milk)
  • a pinch of ground or grated fresh ginger

Blend all the ingredients together, pour in long glass, sprinkle with freshly grated nutmeg, and voila!…a refreshing drink!
